Mary Jo DeFrancesco

As an artist I feel much joy and satisfaction with the ability to express myself creatively. Yet it seems a certain spontaneous flow must occur if the painting is to be successful. As always in the beginning stages, the process is a struggle to get beyond being intimidated by the blank white surface. However, there is a point when my visual thoughts and mental processes seem directly linked to my hand and brush. That's the magical moment I wait for as the painting starts to speak for itself, taking on its own personality. -MJ DeFrancesco
